A daily dose of 4 grams of arginine and 1 gram of vitamin C might rid you of long Covid
If, after being struck by yet another variant of the coronavirus, you recover painfully slowly, you may benefit from supplementation with vitamin C and the amino acid L-arginine. And we're not making that up. No sir! We base ourselves on the results of an Italian trial.
Study
In the Lincoln trial, researchers from Italy's Federico II University gave 869 subjects with persistent complaints after Covid-19 2 doses of 1.66 grains of L-arginine and 500 milligrams of vitamin C every day for 30 days. In total, the study participants received 3.32 milligrams of L-arginine and 1000 milligrams of vitamin C.
The Italians used the supplement Bioarginina C from Farmaceutici Damor.
A control group of 521 study participants received a heavily dosed vitamin B supplement.
Results
On the last day of the supplementation period, the subjects who had received the combination of L-arginine and vitamin C reported surprisingly fewer symptoms of long Covid. They felt physically more energetic, had less difficulty breathing, reported fewer headaches, were able to concentrate better and slept better.

After all, supplementation made physical exertion less tiring, as the figure above shows.
The subjects had to rate their feeling of fatigue during exercise on a scale of 10. The higher the score, the more tiring the effort.
Conclusion
"Further dedicated interventional studies are warranted to endorse our findings", the Italians conclude.
