On the way to type-2 diabetes? Cinnamon, ginger and black cumin protect your health
Traditional healers gave herbs like cinnamon, black cumin and ginger to people with type-2 diabetes even before the term was invented. The same herbs protect the health of people who are becoming diabetic, according to research from the United Arab Emirates.
Study
A control group received a placebo every day for 12 weeks. An experimental group took a capsule containing one gram of cinnamon at three different times throughout the day. Another experimental group took 3 capsules daily, each containing 2 grams of ginger powder. Yet another experimental group took 3 capsules of ground black cumin seed daily.
The researchers therefore did not use any extracts. The contents of their capsules were no different than what you can buy in the store or supermarket.
Results
In the blackseed group, the researchers also saw a not entirely significant decrease in the size of the drug. In the second table below you can see that the waist decreased by 11 centimeters.
