Weighing yourself daily prevents weight gain during holidays
Getting fat is usually not a continuous process. Studies in which researchers follow fat people show that most fat people build up overweight during vacations and holidays, and not in other periods. Nutrition scientists at the University of Georgia published an experimental study in Obesity in which test subjects could block the increase in their body weight in December by weighing themselves daily.
Study
The test subjects used the Nokia Body Cardio WLAN scale. You see the thing above.
The other group did not weigh [Control].
Results
Conclusion
The researchers do not know how daily weighing prevents the increase in body weight.
"Maybe they exercise a little bit more the next day (after seeing a weight increase) or they watch what they are eating more carefully," says Cooper. "The subjects self-select how they are going to modify their behavior, which can be effective because we know that interventions are not one-size-fits-all."
