These 4 bodybuilding drugs are completement merde
Do you buy anabolics in the land of croissants, yellow vests and mayonnaise? Be warned, the quality of the black market stuff is just as bad there as anywhere else. In any case, according to the analyzes of the Center Hospitalier Universitaire Raymond Poincaré, it is better to avoid these 4 products.
Study
In 2016-2019, the researchers analyzed a total of 75 pharmacological preparations, mostly seized during raids in French fitness centers and gyms.
About 1 of the 3 preparations did contain the declared substance, but in too low - and sometimes too high - concentration. A comparable proportion of the preparations contained completely different substances. In that regard, there is little news in the article that Fabresse and his collaborators published in Forensic Science International.
In this post we discuss the 4 worst preparations that the researchers described.
No mesterolone in Proviron
Fabresse's results of the Proviron 25 milligram preparations from Bayer are remarkable. Although manuals for steroids users usually portray Proviron as a 'safe buy', laboratories worldwide recently reported Proviron tabs in which no trace of the active ingredient mesterolone was present. So does Fabresse.
No clen in Sopharma's Clenbuterol
In addition, Fabresse and his collaborators also found no active substances in Sopharma's Clenbuterol 0.02 mg. The paper doesn't say which preparations are involved, but states that there were Cyrillic letters on the box.
CJC-1295 with DAC has no DAC
Just to refresh our memory. CJC-1295 is a string of amino acids that corresponds to a piece of the hormone GHRH. Like GHRH, CJC-1295 stimulates the release of growth hormone. DAC-CJC-1295 is an analogue of CJC-1295 which, thanks to a few extra groups at the end, circulates in the body longer than CJC-1295 and is therefore more effective.
You already saw it coming. In a vial that, according to the label, should contain DAC-CJC-1295, Fabresse did not find DAC-CJC-1295, but 'just' CJC-1295. The researchers do not provide details about the brand.
No testosterone cypionate but...
We know a little more about an extremely sloppy testosterone cypionate product. It is a vial from Genesis that should contain 250 milligrams of testosterone cypionate per milliliter. The paper contains a photo of the tested preparation, which you can see on the right.
Instead of testosterone cypionate, the lab found 74 milligrams of testosterone propionate per milliliter in the vial. You can see this below. Click on the figure for a larger version.
Conclusion
"This study shed light on the issue related to the trafficking of anabolic products in France", write the researchers. "The majority of the products analyzed were counterfeit or substandard."
"The use of performance and image enhancing drugs in mainstream population is an underestimated public health."
