Cumin supplement improves cholesterol
If your LDL is too high and your HDL is too low, supplementation with cumin - the spice that you can simply buy at a local supermarket or toko - may help you a little. You should not exaggerate the effect of supplementation with Cuminum cyminum, but according to a meta-study published in Phytotherapy Research, it is significant.
Study
The type of supplement varied from trial to trial. Some studies used cumin oil, some an extract, some just plain powder. The daily intake ranged from 25 milligrams to three grams. The length of the trials ranged from 2-6 months.

Conclusion
"This results including the reduction in [...] LDL-C, as well as increasing the level of high density lipoprotein."
"Overall, this systematic review with meta-analysis indicated that cumin supplementation can be considered as a safe therapeutic option beside statins and other routinely administered lipid lowering agents."
"Despite the high methodological quality of the randomized controlled trials, we suggest that more research with larger sample size and longer intervention period are needed if cumin is to be recommended for clinical use in the treatment of hyperlipidaemia."
